Heavy Equipment Mechanic
nJoin a leading player in the sand mining industry in West Texas! Our commitment to quality and safety distinguishes us in the market. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
nOverview:
nAs a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the machinery essential to our production process. This position requires strong mechanical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and equipment reliability.
nKey Responsibilities:
n· Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment including front end loaders, conveyors, pumps, electrical, and other plant machinery.
n· Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
n· Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement timely repairs.
n· Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and inspection reports.
n· Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
n· Coordinate with operations personnel to minimize downtime and optimize production.
n· Help manage parts inventory as needed for maintenance and repairs.
n· Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
n· Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
n· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
n· Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to meet the operational needs of the plant.
nQualifications:
n· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
n· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the sand mining or heavy equipment industry
n· Strong knowledge of AC electrical systems and mechanical components.
n· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
n· Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
n· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information.
n· Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
n· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.
n· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
n· Must be able to work a rotation schedule.
n· Must be able to provide own transportation to and from facility.
n· Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety standards is preferred.
n· Valid Texas driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

nPhysical Requirements:
n· Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally for equipment handling or maintenance tasks.
n· Sitting/Standing/Walking: Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking in both indoor and outdoor environments.
n· Climbing: Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access equipment for inspection and repair.
n· Stamina: Must possess the physical endurance to perform maintenance tasks for extended periods, including repetitive motions.
n· Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying weather conditions and endure noise levels typical of an outdoor plant setting.
n· Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for using tools and equipment.
n· Vision: Adequate vision to diagnose issues and safely perform repairs.
n· Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively in a busy work environment.
