Residential Heavy Equipment Operator – CDL
New Sherborne Farms Construction LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Residential Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid CDL license to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in residential excavation and be proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment.
We are looking for a long-term, company-oriented individual who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team, and is willing to work overtime when needed.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of residential excavation, including but not limited to:
Operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, and various attachments safely and efficiently.
Residential site excavation and preparation.
Loam retention, placement, grading, and consolidation.
Establishing grades and performing driveway cuts.
Proper grading and finish grading of yards and driveways.
Retaining wall excavation and preparation.
Foundation excavation, backfilling, and compaction.
Slab preparation and site work.
Installation of perimeter drains and sump wells.
Utility trenching, installation, backfilling, and compaction.
Septic system installation and related excavation.
Stormwater management, drainage systems, and ongoing maintenance.
Erosion control installation and maintenance.
Loading, hauling, and moving materials as needed.
Assisting with site preparation, loam, seeding, and final site cleanup.
Operating and maintaining screening plant equipment is a plus.
Performing daily inspections of trucks and equipment before and after use.
Communicating equipment maintenance and repair needs promptly.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Following all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Valid CDL license required ; appropriate class and endorsements based on job duties.
Previous heavy equipment operating experience required.
Significant experience in residential excavation and site development .
Strong knowledge of residential grading, drainage, foundations, septic systems, and utility installation.
Experience operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and skid steers with attachments.
Screening plant experience is a plus.
Ability to read and understand site plans, grades, and elevations is .
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Ability to handle physical demands of the job and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
