Gateway Terminal Job OpportunityGateway Terminal is a leading terminal on the East Coast strategically located in the Port of New Haven, Connecticut, providing turnkey vertically integrated logistics services for dry bulk, liquid bulk, and breakbulk products.Job Summary: Operates a wide variety of heavy equipment, and vehicles that perform the spreading, and loading of onsite materials.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.Operates heavy equipment in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.Front End LoaderExcavatorBulldozerForkliftConducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records.Move, load, and position raw materials with the use of material-moving equipment.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Must be eligible to work in the United States without a Visa sponsorshipMust be 18 years or olderAbility to effectively operate independently with minimal supervisionWilling to work a flexible scheduleAbility to read, comprehend and carry out simple instructions from oral instructions or written correspondenceMust be able to work in a cold/hot environmentDetail oriented and accuratePreferred Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCDL, or comparable work experienceAbility to communicate via 2-way radioTruck dispatch experience, better practicesUnderstand, and speak SpanishPhysical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The work environment involves hazards, risks, or discomforts typical of working around with or around machinery with exposed moving parts, arrant chemicals, heavy equipment, extreme heights, or abusive or hostile clientele and patients. Exposure to disagreeable weather conditions and extreme levels of temperature, ventilation, lighting, and sound is normal. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
