Job Overview:
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Primoris Heavy Civil team in Lockport, LA. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery safely and efficiently to support civil construction projects.
Job Responsibilities:
* Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, scrapers, compactors, and other construction equipment according to project requirements and safety standards.
* Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation checks of equipment, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and general condition, and complete required documentation.
* Conduct minor maintenance and lubrication of equipment as needed and report any mechanical issues or defects to supervisors immediately.
* Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate excavation, grading, and material placement.
* Work collaboratively with ground crew, foremen, and other team members to ensure efficient project execution.
* Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area around the equipment.
* Assist with other general labor duties on site when equipment operation is not required.
Job Qualifications:**
* Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
* Proven ability to read and interpret plans, grades, and stakes.
* Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and earthwork principles.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not always required.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
