Members of our staff have opportunities to earn competitive pay and rewards, grow in their careers and become a part of a great team.The Heavy Machine Operator is responsible for utilizing heavy equipment to complete excavation jobs. As a Heavy Machine Operator, you must also carry out a variety of tasks such as tidying up work areas, unloading materials, preparing worksites, cleaning debris, and executing other tasks as assigned.Key Responsibilities:Work with Excavation Team to dig and set septic tanks and whole systems, sewer lines, water service, and gas lines to code/quote specifications.Properly grade trenches for sewer line pitch.Safely operate excavation equipment.Basic troubleshooting & diagnosing of residential plumbing issues (drain stoppages/restrictions, etc)Clearly communicate inspection findings & repair options to the Excavation LeadPerform all plumbing repairs and placements to CodeWork with tools associated with drain stoppages (snakes, cameras, hydro jetters, etc)Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on equipment.Ensure that all tools, equipment, supplies and assigned vehicles are clean and maintainedCollect any money owed at the time of service if necessaryMaintain Compliance with all OSHA Safety Regulations and City OrdinancesEnsure customer is satisfied and happy with the work performedMaintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and brandAlways be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings.Live the Core Values in every interactionOther duties as assignedRequirements:High school diploma/GED requiredMaintain a clear driving record,CDL Class A license (preferred)Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hoursStrong customer service skillsTech savvy and proficient in using an I-Pad and Service Titan PreferredMust pass random drug testingDesire to grow within the company and complete additional certificationsUnderstanding of the current regulations within the fieldExcellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical levelAble to work both independently and as part of a teamGeneral knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe usePhysical Demands:Climbing up and down on ladders and equipmentHeavy lifting required (50-75) pounds, ladder work and tight space work required from time to timeAbility to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feetOperate handheld power toolsPerform manual digging in tight areasWear personal protective equipmentAbility to work more than 40 hours per work week as neededWorking Environment:Work both indoors and outdoorsWould be exposed to very hot or very cold temperaturesWill be in proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situationsWear safety attire, such as goggles or other protective clothingCould be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and distractingWill be exposed to very bright or inadequate lighting conditionsAbility to climb ladders and work from roofs and scaffoldingWill work around exposed contaminantsMust be able to work in cramped work places, such as crawl spaces under floors.Salary Description $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
