Heavy Motor Equipment Operator (MEO II)The Town of Brookline's Department of Public Works is seeking reliable and skilled Heavy Motor Equipment Operators (MEO II) to join our Highway and Sanitation Division. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe and clean streets, supporting essential sanitation services, and responding to snow and ice emergencies throughout the year.The MEO II operates a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, street sweepers, and sanitation packers. Typical duties include:Performing road, sidewalk, and pothole repairsTransporting materials and personnel to job sitesCollecting trash, yard waste, and dumpstersConducting daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenanceOperating plows, sanders, and other equipment during snow and ice operationsAssisting with emergency and storm response efforts as neededPerforms all related duties as required.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent education, training and experience.1–2 years of experience operating heavy trucks and equipment, preferably in construction, utility, roadway, or sanitation workExperience with snow and ice operations preferredValid Massachusetts CDL (Class B) and MA Hoisting Engineer's License requiredWhy Join Us: Be part of a dedicated team that keeps Brookline's roads safe, clean, and functional year-round.
