Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking an IT Helpdesk Specialist for a top financial services client. This candidate will serve as the first point of contact for staff technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, documenting resolutions, and escalating more complex problems when necessary. They will also support critical IT operations including server backups, disaster recovery testing, system maintenance, and IT documentation. This is a great opportunity for an early-career IT professional looking to build hands-on experience across help desk support, infrastructure, and IT operations.
Day-to-Day:
Serve as the first point of contact for staff experiencing technical issues
Create, maintain, and close help desk tickets with detailed documentation
Remotely troubleshoot hardware, software, and user issues
Identify and implement effective technical solutions
Escalate unresolved technical issues to appropriate IT support
Install, configure, modify, and repair hardware and software
Maintain IT process and procedure documentation
Support daily IT administration and operational needs
Diagnose and resolve server backup issues
Test backup hardware and software to validate successful recovery
Perform disaster recovery testing in sandbox environments
Must-Haves:
Associate’s degree in Information Technology OR 2+ years of help desk experience
Experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment
Knowledge of automation products, databases, disaster recovery, and backup support
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to install, configure, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Customer service-oriented with patience and professionalism
Plusses:
Experience troubleshooting server backup issues
Disaster recovery testing experience
Experience testing backup hardware and software
Experience maintaining IT processes and procedure documentation
