Job description
Hematologist/Oncologist – Knoxville, Tennessee
Growing Hospital system seeks a Hematologist/Oncologist to work in Knoxville, Tennessee. The provider will support comprehensive patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-value services.
Responsibilities
Assess, maintain, and improve the health status of individuals in the communities served through timely access to evidence‑based acute, preventive, and chronic disease care.
Serve as a role model of professionalism to all members of the interdisciplinary health care team.
Collaborate with all other practitioners and clinical support staff to form a high‑performing team.
Provide high‑value care; demonstrate good stewardship of resources by limiting unnecessary testing and referrals; consider risks, benefits, and patient preferences when making diagnostic or therapeutic decisions.
Document all patient care activities and services in the electronic health record, ensuring clarity, conciseness, accuracy, and sufficient detail for continuity of care and quality review.
Participate in disease‑focused tumor boards and multidisciplinary clinics.
Leverage comprehensive patient support programs, including disease‑specific nurse navigators, genetic counseling, clinical research, cancer outreach services, regional housing for patients, and nutrition and social services.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist.
Ability to hold an unrestricted state of Tennessee MD or DO licensure.
