Job description
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch; OT applies after 9-hour work day). Open to providers available 2 3 weeks per month.

Practice Setting: Community Cancer Center (Inpatient & Outpatient)
Patient Volume: 15 patients per shift
Patient Population: Adult (Hematology & Oncology)
Support Staff: 2 MDs, 3 NPs, RNs, MAs, and Office Staff
EMR: Cerner
Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology (Fellowship Required)
License Requirement: None
Certifications / Compliance: Active ACLS, ATLS, and BLS required
Call Details:
Call Type: Beeper call
Schedule: Shared call coverage for nights and weekends
Response Time: Must respond within 30 minutes
Scope: Call covers both inpatient and outpatient needs
Position Overview:
A community-based cancer center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage starting December 1, 2026. The position involves providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient clinical care along with shared call coverage. Temporary privileges are available with an estimated 60-day credentialing timeframe.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult and treat both ambulatory (outpatient) and hospital (inpatient) oncology/hematology patients.
Manage an average daily volume of 15 patients per shift in a facility equipped with 18 chemo and 2 non-chemo infusion chairs as well as on-site radiation oncology services.
Perform general hematology and oncology care (bone marrow biopsies completed on-site; preferred).
Provide shared night and weekend beeper call coverage.
Document all patient interactions using Cerner EMR and log time via a real-time Mobile Time Clock.
