Physician – Hematology/Oncology
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Dothan, AL
Service Setting: Outpatient & Inpatient Cancer Center
Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
Coverage Period: Ongoing
Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri (Hours TBD)
On-Call Shift Schedule: Shared Call
Call Type: Rotational
Call Ratio: 1:4
Patient Demographics: Adults (general hematology/oncology)
Admissions: Yes
Rounding: Yes (inpatient cancer floor)
Phone Consults: Yes
Case Mix: Hematology and oncology patients across full spectrum
No. of Beds in Department: 420-bed hospital; 21 infusion rooms; dedicated inpatient oncology floors
Trauma Level: Level II
Office Equipment Available: Radiation therapy and infusion center onsite; certified oncology nurses; onsite fitness facility
Specialty Backup Available: Radiation Oncology, hospitalist support, radiology, pain management, neurosurgery
Support Staff Available: 3 board-certified Hem/Onc physicians, certified oncology nurses, multidisciplinary cancer team
Reason for Coverage: Practice expansion
Compensation: Highly competitive compensation package with productivity bonus

Required Procedures: Outpatient chemotherapy management; Inpatient consults and co-management; Hematologic evaluations and treatments
Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama
Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
Experience: Fellowship trained in Hem/Onc
Other Qualifications: Team-oriented, able to work in collaborative environment; PSLF eligible
Duties & Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a hospital-based cancer center; Participate in shared 1:4 call rotation; Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team; Engage in both inpatient and outpatient care delivery; Participate in teaching and academic opportunities through affiliation with ACOM
