Job description
Take the next step in your career as a physician leader with an academic-affiliated health network entering an exciting phase of growth. This role combines hands-on clinical practice with site medical director responsibilities, offering the chance to help shape a comprehensive, accredited cancer program from a leadership seat.
What You'll Do:
Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of patients with malignant and benign hematologic/oncologic disorders
Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards alongside surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and supportive care teams
Serve as physician leader for the local hematology-oncology program
Oversee provider engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination
Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers
Monitor performance metrics around access, quality, safety, and patient experience
Represent the program at regional Cancer Service Line leadership meetings
Partner with hospital and administrative leadership on strategic and operational priorities
What You'll Bring:
MD with active NY medical license
Board certified in Medical Oncology; board certified or eligible in Hematology
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology post-fellowship
Prior leadership experience (site director, medical director, or similar) strongly preferred
