Job Summary:
nSUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider to serve in a full-time role to provide care to patients with the Hepatobiliary Team.
nPosition is based in a Level I Trauma Center that provides Critical Care and services to patients across a 17+ County Region. Scheduling is determined based on operational needs. Upstate operates 24 hours a day/Seven days a week, providing continuous care to our region.
nKey Responsibilities:
nnnPrimarily provide Inpatient coverage with a First Assist component and cross training to the Outpatient Clinic.
n
nnConduct Inpatient encounters at the SUNY Upstate Downtown campus providing education to and interfacing with primary teams, patients, and families prior to discharge.
n
nnAssess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.
n
nnBuild and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.
n
n nAs an APP, you will be an integral member of the hepatobiliary healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.
nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnMaster’s Degree as a Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program) or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA, or eligible by time of appointment.
n
nnNYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
n
nnCurrent National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
n
nnHave a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
n
nnCPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
n
nnMust successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
n
n nPreferred Qualifications:
nnn2 years Surgical Oncology or General Surgery First-Assist experience.
n
nn2 years APP Inpatient Surgical experience.
n
n nWork Days:
nPrimarily Day shift with rotational Weekend and Holiday coverage. Evening and Night shifts maybe be required based on operational needs.
nShifts may range from 8 to 12-hour shifts.
