Associate Attorney – Products Liability & Complex Tort Litigation (4+ Years)
Location: Long Island, NY (Hybrid)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a driven, high-performing Litigation Associate Attorney (4+ years) to join the Long Island office of a nationally renowned, AM Law-ranked defense litigation firm.

This role offers an exceptional blend of high-exposure, sophisticated matters and direct courtroom/case management autonomy. The practice focuses on high-stakes consumer products liability defense (50%) and complex general liability/tort defense (50%) , including multi-party litigation and catastrophic claims.
Direct product liability defense experience is not required . Candidates with strong backgrounds in general liability, transportation, premises liability, construction defect, or commercial torts who are eager to expand into products liability defense are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage a robust defense caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development and trial prep.
Lead and oversee comprehensive discovery processes, including drafting/responding to discovery requests, expert witness coordination, and electronic discovery strategy.
Take and defend party, fact witness, and corporate/expert depositions.
Draft substantive motions, pleadings, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
Represent clients regularly in court appearances, oral arguments, settlement conferences, and mediations across New York state and federal courts.
Qualifications
J.D.** from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license and in good standing with the New York State Bar .
4+ years** of substantive civil defense litigation experience.
Proven track record handling depositions, court appearances, and complex discovery.
Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
Driven self-starter with the ability to manage matters independently within a collaborative team structure.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $165,000 – $210,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
