\ NPride Health is hiring a Histotechnician (Traveler) to support our client’s medical facility in Grand Rapids MI 49503. This is 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Details:
\ NSchedule: Monday-Friday 2 pm-10:30 pm
\ NLocation: Grand Rapids MI 49503
\ NJob Type: Traveler contract
\ NContract Length: 3 months + Possible Extension
\ NPay Range: $2200 to $2400/Week Gross, Yes tax free Stipend Included

Job Description: 1. Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s)
\ N Process paperworkassociated with accessioning and reporting.
\ N Ensure proper tissue processing.
\ N Under general supervision, perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types as defined by Histology Manager/Supervisor.
\ N Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining.
\ N Perform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated. 7. Under general supervision, perform special stains under approval of/at discretion of Histology Manager/Supervisor.
\ N Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment. 9. Perform filing of finished blocks and slides.
\ N Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activities.
\ N Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
\ N Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
\ N Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
\ N Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
\ N Minimum Qualifications 1. A.A., A.S. degree and one year of experience within the last 10 years, OR H.S. education or equivalent and 5 years full-time acceptable experience as a Histotechnician within the last 10 years. 2. HT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible OR five years of full time experience in the last 10 years
