Pride Health is hiring Histotechnician to support our client's medical facility based in White Plains, NY. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Title: Histotechnician Schedule: 1st shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday Contract Duration: 5+ months
Perform routine and non-routine histology procedures to prepare tissue slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists. Ensure proper tissue processing in accordance with established laboratory procedures. Perform embedding and microtomy for designated specimen types, as authorized by the Histology Manager or Supervisor. Perform special stains as approved or directed by the Histology Manager or Supervisor. Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment. File and maintain completed tissue blocks and slides in accordance with laboratory procedures. Follow laboratory quality control policies and accurately document all required quality control activities. Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, quality assurance policies, and quality control procedures. Adhere to applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
