Job description
Home Health AideHome Health Aides provide care to patients in their homes. They assist patients in activities of daily living and other related functions and tasks specified in the patient's plan of care. They work under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse.ResponsibilitiesAssist with bathing of patient (bed, bath, sponge, or shower).Assist with care of teeth and mouth.Assist with grooming (shampoo, dry and comb hair), shaving, care of nails and prescribed skin care.Assist patient on and off bedpan, commode, and toilet. Assist with catheter care if needed.Assist patient in transferring from bed to chair, wheelchair, and in ambulating.Preparing and serving meals. Assist patient with eating.Assist patient with dressing and undressing activities.Light housekeeping (making and changing beds, dusting, vacuuming, dishwashing, and laundry).Assists patient with shopping and errands.Maintain daily legible records as instructed and report incidents to the nurse.Assist with prescribed exercises taught by assigned professional staff.Reinforce dressings and change simple non-sterile dressings.Assist with the use of rehab equipment (walker, wheelchair, cane, etc.).Measure intake and output.Assist with changing ostomy appliances.Assist with catheter care.Assist with prescribed skin care.Accompany patient to medical appointments.QualificationsMust have current HHA Certification from a valid training program.
