University Home Care Inc is seeking an experienced, in-person Home Health + Hospice Medicare Biller & Denial Specialist to join our team in Livonia, MI. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in medical billing, specifically within home health and hospice settings. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate Medicare billing and handling denials to optimize reimbursement and compliance.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of Medicare billing for home health and hospice services in compliance with CMS guidelines.
Review, research, and resolve billing denials and rejections promptly to ensure timely payment.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to verify patient information and service documentation.
Prepare and submit accurate claims through electronic billing systems.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities and denial resolutions.
Stay current with Medicare policies and updates affecting billing and reimbursement.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Medicare biller and denial specialist within home health and hospice care.
In-depth knowledge of Medicare billing regulations and procedures.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve denials efficiently.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments and with payers.
Ability to work on-site in Livonia, MI; remote candidates will not be considered.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software is preferred.
