This is our Christian mission, and it inspires us to help make communities healthier and happier.The role you'll contribute: Primarily responsible to carry out the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist for the rehabilitation of patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status. Intervention is purposeful and skilled utilizing the therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to produce changes in the condition consistent with the diagnosis and prognosis. Interact and collaborate with the patient and family as well as the clinical team.The value you'll bring to the team:Provides physical therapy intervention based on the plan of care. Provides therapeutic exercises to develop strength and endurance, range of motion and flexibility; therapeutic activity to improve functional performance; neuromuscular re-education to improve balance, coordination, kinesthetic sense, posture, and proprioception; gait training to instruct in the use and care of orthosis, prosthesis and assistive devices; wheelchair management to facilitate proper positioning and mobility.Provides modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulations, hot/cold packs, mechanical traction, TENS application as ordered to reduce pain and promote mobility.Instructs the patient and caregiver in care and use of physical therapy devices and the patient's total physical therapy program including the home exercise program.Observes and records activities and findings in the clinical record and reports to the physical therapist and/or physician the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition, or when there are deviations from the plan of care.The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:Minimum qualifications:Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant with at least one year of experience under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.Valid in state Driver's License with current car insuranceActive American Heart Association BLSCurrent state of Florida Physical Therapist Assistant licensePreferred qualifications:2 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist assistantExperience working with adult and geriatric rehabilitation cases3 years Home health experience within the past 3 yearsThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.Category: Home CareOrganization: AdventHealth Home HealthSchedule: Full-timeShift: 1 - DayReq ID: We are an equal opportunity employer and do not tolerate discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age or disability/handicap with respect to recruitment, selection, placement, promotion, wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment.
