PRN Homemaker OpportunityDignity Care Home Care of Indiana is currently recruiting a PRN Homemaker to support our clients and enable them to live safely in their homes.This is a PRN position with an estimated pay rate of $15-20/hr.PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENTThe Homemaker is a non-licensed individual who will be responsible for levels of client support that do not include direct, hands-on care. The Homemaker's support will keep clients safe and comfortable in their own homes.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with creating shopping listsMay drive the client to the store or go to the store for the clientOrganize groceriesPrepare meals according to the client's restrictions and likesAssist clients with their errandsOrganize clothingSort mailWater plantsHousekeeping including: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning the refrigerator, taking out the trashProvide emotional supportConduct visits to clients as necessary and as scheduled per clients needInform supervisors and/or emergency medical staff about changes in client's healthProvide verbal report on any changes in the client's environmentAttend mandatory in-services as requiredReport to immediate supervisor any and all complaints or allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation as soon as the complaint or allegation is made knownFollow all Dignity Care Home Care policies and proceduresAny other tasks/duties assigned by the Supervisor within the employee's abilitiesQUALIFICATIONSAble to do housework and cookingExcellent communication and people skillsPositive and compassionate attitudeWell-organized and reliablePhysical Stamina: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with no restrictionsCPR certifiedHigh school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's license or proof of other mode of transportationKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESDemonstrated ability to provide Housekeeping and meal preparationDemonstrated good communications and public relations skillsDemonstrated good verbal/written communication skills, knowledge of documentation requirements and service coordinationDemonstrated ability to execute a supportive and sensitive approach to patient/family needs.
