Job description

Home Health Assistant PositionThe Home Health Assistant position is responsible for providing personal care and other designated health-related services designed to maintain the client's physical and emotional well-being, in compliance with the Home Care/Hospice policies, procedures and standards for the Home Health Assistant.Ecumen Hospice is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its location in Duluth, Minnesota. Ecumen Hospice is a non-profit, Medicare-certified hospice that has been providing life-honoring care in Minnesota for almost 30 years. We serve those who are experiencing a life-limiting condition and the people that are closest to them, through a comprehensive offering of services which include but are not limited to: physician oversight, nursing, social work, spiritual care, hospice aide assistance, music therapy, massage therapy, volunteer services, pet therapy, and bereavement care.Join Ecumen, a leading nonprofit senior living provider committed to advocating for older adults through exceptional housing, compassionate healthcare, and innovative services. Be part of a team that makes a meaningful impact, supporting our mission to serve older adults, while fostering inclusivity and belonging in everything we do.Opportunity Details:Schedule: Full-Time, 1.0 FTE - 80 hours bi-weekly M-F 8am-4:30pm No Weekends & No HolidaysPay: The targeted pay range for this job is $21.50 - $24.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.Benefits: Ecumen offers a comprehensive benefits package to our full-time team members including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life & disability insurance, paid time off benefits, a generous 6% 401(k) match, and other well-being resources.Essential Job Responsibilities:Provides personal care to clients per client's individualized care plan. Promotes independence with Clients, offering choices and fostering self-help skills.Observes, documents and reports changes in physical, cognitive, and emotional condition of clients.Communicates with client and/or family members while in client's home as appropriate. Participates in care conferences with other health team members as neededPrepares meals as directed and requested, following special meal plans if instructed. May provide light housekeeping and laundry services as directed by the care plan.Responds appropriately to safety hazards, fire and other emergency situationsPerforms other duties as assigned.Driving Requirements: Local Travel and Driver's License RequiredMinimum Required Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderCertified Nursing Assistant and satisfactory test out of the HHA component.Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle recordAbility to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, MSDS.Preferred Qualifications:High school diploma, GED, or higherPrevious experience working with seniorsEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
