Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually
Summary
The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and medical oversight for Catalina Island Health's Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. The role ensures high-quality, safe, patient-centered care for Catalina Island residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Provide medical direction for hospital, emergency, skilled nursing, and clinic services
Develop, review, and approve clinical policies, protocols, and standards of care
Supervise and support physicians and advanced practice providers, including chart review and collaboration
Lead quality improvement, peer review, and patient safety initiatives
Ensure compliance with CMS Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic requirements, Title 22, and accreditation standards
Partner with the CEO and leadership on strategic planning, recruitment, and the new hospital project
Maintain an active clinical practice as scheduled
Qualifications
MD or DO with an active, unrestricted California medical license and DEA registration
Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; leadership experience preferred
Rural or critical access healthcare experience strongly preferred
