Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College is seeking an accomplished Inpatient Hospitalist NP/PA for an ongoing assignment starting as soon as credentialed. Designed for advanced practice providers who thrive in dynamic hospital medicine environments, this position offers an ideal practice framework: predictable 12-hour daytime shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM), a highly desirable 7-on/7-off block schedule, and complete freedom from night or call duties.
The Practice Experience Join a robust, multidisciplinary inpatient medicine team where Nurse Practitioners exercise clinical excellence alongside hospitalist physicians, ICU APPs, resident physicians, emergency medicine specialists, and dedicated nocturnists.
Advanced Clinical Scope: Deliver collaborative, high-quality inpatient floor management across a diverse patient population:
Manage floor calls, shared inpatient admissions, and acute clinical changes
Respond to hospital codes and rapid-response calls
Oversee admissions and clinical care for general surgery, urology, hematology/oncology, and geriatric-fracture service lines
Enjoy a focused clinical scope with zero required invasive procedures and zero ICU coverage responsibilities
Streamline patient care using Epic EMR
Schedule & Lifestyle Advantage: Highly sought-after 7 days on / 7 days off rotation with standard daytime hours (7:00 AM 7:00 PM ).
Zero Call Burden: Complete post-shift disconnect with no night shifts and no call obligations .
Assignment Duration: Immediate start, with ongoing block scheduling.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications We are seeking a proactive, patient-focused NP/PA dedicated to inpatient clinical excellence and seamless care coordination.
Credentials & Certification: Certified NP/PA with specialized focus in Adult/Acute Care or Family Practice with relevant inpatient experience.
Licensure: Active, unencumbered Pennsylvania State Nurse Practitioner License.
Experience: Inpatient Hospitalist experience strongly preferred; proven comfort managing floor calls, admissions, and rapid-response events.
EMR Proficiency: Experience with Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
Background: Clean credentialing file with no malpractice or adverse background history.
