Job description Med Ninjas is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) - Hospitalist for Short term locum tenens coverage at a inpatient facility located in Brattleboro, VT
The PA-C must be available for the complete coverage block from December 2026 to ongoing
This assignment includes Inpatient, onsite hospital coverage, adult inpatient/observation care, and no on call or weekend.
Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (PA) - Hospitalist
Shift: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm; in-person stay in the unit/hospital during the shift.
Start Date: December 2026
End Date: Ongoing
Position Details: Daytime hospitalist APP staffing need in a small community hospital; 100% in-hospital admissions; average 8-10 patients per day.
Patient Population: 100% adult inpatient/observation population.
Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-Based; observation/inpatient floor level of care and intermediate level of care.
Responsibilities: Respond to codes and rapid responses; manage step-down level patients; stabilize critically ill patients and arrange transport to tertiary care when needed; provide inpatient hospitalist care.
Required Procedures: Code and rapid response management; ventilator management experience preferred; stabilization of critically ill patients; step-down level patient management.
EMR System: Cerner Community Works with AI scribe support.
Support Staff: Supportive nursing staff, ED team, surgeons, case management team, and overnight hospitalist MD team.
Days Per Month: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm.
On-Call/Weekends: No call; no weekends.
Required Procedures and Skills Adult inpatient/hospitalist medicine
Responding to codes and rapid responses
Step-down level patient management
Stabilization of critically ill patients
Arranging transport to tertiary care
Ventilator management experience preferred
Inpatient/observation patient management
Requirements Acute Care APRN and all Required Certifications for Physician Assistant
Vermont license or willingness to obtain
2-3 years of hospitalist work preferred
Inpatient/hospitalist adult medicine experience
Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
NPDB within 30 days
Board Certified
DEA, BLS, ACLS
