Locum Tenens Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Opportunity in Eureka, California Join a locum tenens pediatric hospitalist physician opportunity in Eureka, CA, with inpatient NICU coverage in scenic Northern California. This call-focused role is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician with pediatric hospital medicine and neonatology experience who enjoys providing high-quality newborn and pediatric care in a supportive clinical environment.
Job Details Setting: Inpatient pediatric hospitalist and NICU coverage Assignment Type: Locum tenens physician opportunity Schedule: Call-only coverage with 24-hour beeper call Shift Duration: 12-hour days Weekly Estimated Pay: $8,610 - $9,230 Start Date: November 1, 2026 Duration: Ongoing coverage with specific dates of need Location: Eureka, California Job Requirements At least 1 year of experience in pediatric hospital medicine, neonatology, or a closely related setting Active California medical license DEA registration required Board certified or board eligible within 3-5 years of residency ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP required Experience with neonatal airway management, newborn resuscitation, and care for 32-week preemies and up Comfort managing both NICU patients and pediatric patients in a combined care setting Clean professional file preferred for credentialing Responsibilities Provide inpatient pediatric and neonatal coverage, with a strong focus on NICU care Manage newborn resuscitations and stabilize neonates requiring hospitalist support Perform neonatal airway management, including intubation when needed Support treatment of neonatal air leak and pneumothorax, including needle decompression Place UVC and UAC lines, including emergent delivery room UVC access Perform lumbar punctures and interpret EKGs Collaborate closely with the care team to deliver high-quality, family-centered care Apply now for this locum tenens pediatric hospitalist job in Eureka, California, and help provide exceptional inpatient and NICU care.
