nWe are hiring for a nocturnist position. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

n nQualifications:

nnnMedical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

n

nnBoard-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.

n

nnActive medical license or eligible to become licensed in Indiana.

n

n nScheduling:

nnNight positions with an array of flexible scheduling options.

n nKey Responsibilities:

nnnDay Hospitalists Round on patients as well as do admissions. Our model is 2-3 Hospitalists along with an APP working as a team.

n

nnServe as the solo clinician at night, covering a 21-bed open ICU. We do not perform procedures, but we do run codes and rapids.

n

nnYou will be admitting to the ICU, but do consult with an intensivist. We also have specialty support that can be at the hospital within minutes if necessary.

n

nnAs a nocturnist, it is important to understand that some nights can be hectic, and some nights are quiet. Generally, nights are very manageable and similar to a community hospital feel.

nnWe work with Epic as our EMR system and would be cross-credentialed at our sister location in Gary.

n nLiving and Working in Merrillville:

nnnLocated on the Indiana/Illinois border, just outside of the Chicagoland area, you will find the communities of Gary and Merrillville, Indiana. Located just 12 miles from each other, it is easy to work between both locations. Northwest Indiana is a great locale on Lake Michigan's southern shore, with its cities and towns offering a diverse range of lifestyles, with convenient access via train to downtown Chicago. The area offers a variety of housing, educational, and recreation opportunities, along with a multitude of public and private schools.
