Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
This role involves providing 24-hour pediatric hospitalist coverage in an inpatient setting. You will be responsible for admitting patients from the ER and managing those admitted to the hospitalist services. The average patient volume includes 2-4 neonates and 1-2 pediatric inpatients daily, with potential increases during RSV and cold seasons. This position offers a rich clinical experience with a diverse case mix.
Schedule and Assignment Details
The assignment begins on October 22nd, with coverage needed through November 2nd. Shifts are structured as 24-hour calls, with handoffs typically occurring at 4 AM or 4 PM. Physicians can expect to work 10-15 shifts per month, offering a balanced schedule that supports both professional engagement and personal time. The assignment is set for one year, providing stability and continuity.
Support and Work Environment
Join a collaborative team that values comprehensive pediatric care. You'll have access to support staff and the Meditech EMR system to streamline patient management. Preferred lodging is conveniently located next to the hospital, ensuring easy access and comfort during your assignment. Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
North Dakota state license preferred, with IMLC considered.
Required certifications: PALS, BLS, NRP, and DEA.
Clean malpractice history highly preferred.
Ability to start promptly and adapt to immediate credentialing processes.
