Job Summary:**
The Host/Cashier Swing for the Steakhouse is responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing reservations, seating guests efficiently, and accurately handling cash and credit card transactions. This role ensures a smooth and welcoming experience for all diners in a fast-paced, high-end environment.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, confirming reservations and managing waitlists.
* Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and communicating any specials or important information.
* Maintain accurate seating charts and floor plans, ensuring optimal table turnover and guest flow.
* Answer phones professionally, taking reservations, and addressing guest inquiries.
* Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and gift certificates.
* Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
* Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
* Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless dining experience.
* Resolve guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and discretion.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including cash handling protocols and guest service standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Previous experience in a host/cashier role, preferably in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in basic math and cash handling procedures.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (swing shift availability is essential).
* Knowledge of POS systems (e.g., Aloha, OpenTable) is a plus.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary gaming licenses and certifications, if applicable.
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
