Job description
Job Title: Security Guard
nLocation: Embassy Suites by Hilton, Baton Rouge, LA
nReports To: Security Supervisor / General Manager
nPosition Summary
nThe Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and property at Embassy Suites Baton Rouge. This role involves patrolling the hotel premises, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and upholding a secure environment in accordance with hotel policies and local regulations.
nKey Responsibilities
nnPatrol and monitor all areas of the hotel, including entrances, guest floors, parking areas, and back-of-house.
nMonitor surveillance cameras and security systems for unusual activity.
nRespond promptly to incidents, alarms, and guest or employee reports of suspicious behavior.
nAssist in emergency situations, including evacuations, medical incidents, and fire alarms.
nDocument all security-related activities, incidents, and irregularities in daily reports.
nEnforce hotel policies and procedures, including access control and loss prevention measures.
nWork closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
nProvide courteous assistance to guests and staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
nConduct safety inspections and report hazards or maintenance needs.
nAssist with crowd control and security during special events or high-occupancy periods.
n nQualifications
nnHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
nPrevious security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
nValid security license (if required by Louisiana state law).
nCPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
nStrong observational and communication skills.
nAbility to remain calm and professional under pressure.
nMust be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
n nPhysical Requirements
nnAbility to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.
nAbility to respond quickly to emergencies in all areas of the property.
