Purpose of the Position: Under direct supervision, provides limited para-professional breastfeeding services to clients and their families. Assists with breastfeeding classes for WIC participants. Provides individual, basic breastfeeding education and counseling in the WIC clinic and outside of the WIC clinic. Follows all Loving Support and Cobb and Douglas WIC Guidelines in maintaining caseload and documenting participant contacts. Issues and logs breast pumps within WIC and Loving Support Policy. Participates in monthly staff meetings and breastfeeding conferences/workshops as appropriate. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties. This job description may be changed at any time Essential functions (include, but are not limited to): Receives and maintains a caseload of WIC mothers 2-3 participants per hour worked Provides basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers Breastfeeding Benefits, Breastfeeding Common Barriers… Assists with WIC clinic prenatal, breastfeeding classes and support groups
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience in a social services-related position Must be a current or former WIC participant who has breastfed a minimum of six months Enthusiastic about breastfeeding and supporting moms Available to work up to 29 hours per week Reliable transportation Basic computer skills
Salary Information
$18.00 Hourly | up to 29 hours/week | Part-time (No Benefits)
