Household Manager & Family Assistant with Childcare & Meal Prep SupportLocation: Signal Mountain, TN 37377Employment Type: Part-time; 15–20 hours per week, with potential for expanded hours during summer months.Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (times may vary slightly). Some flexibility for occasional date nights or busier periods. Weekends are not required; minor flexibility is a plus but not expected.Compensation: $25–$30 per hourStart Date: ASAPRequirementsReliable personal transportationMaintain a smoke-free environment.Must be authorized to work in the United States.CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to obtain upon hire is acceptable.Ability to navigate stairs throughout the workday.Comfortable with dogs and cats.About Our FamilyWe're a warm, active family of four living on Signal Mountain, a close-knit community just outside Chattanooga. With both parents working demanding, full-time careers in the office and two school-age kids, our afternoons are often the busiest part of the day. Between the bus stop, homework, sports practices, dinner, and two lovable dogs and a cat, there's always something happening!We already have a biweekly cleaning team, so this role is less about heavy housekeeping and more about being the steady extra set of hands that keeps our home and family moving. We'd love someone who can step into the afternoon rhythm, anticipate what needs attention, and help create a smooth transition from the school day into the evening.We're an easygoing, welcoming family and hope to find someone who genuinely enjoys being part of our village. You know how to connect with children while still keeping everyone moving—whether that means getting homework started, making sure sports gear is ready, or helping our kids stay on task when there's somewhere to be.You're also someone who naturally takes initiative. You notice the laundry that needs folding, the pantry item running low, or the kitchen that could use a quick reset and jump in without waiting for a list. You're organized, a strong time manager, and comfortable shifting gears when an afternoon doesn't go exactly according to plan.In the kitchen, you're confident and creative with simple, family-friendly meals and don't mind working with a couple of picky eaters (with one important house rule: no cooked broccoli!). Most importantly, you're looking for a stable, long-term role where you can become a familiar, trusted presence and make everyday family life feel a little easier.Key ResponsibilitiesFamily SupportMeet children at the bus stop in the afternoon and manage the after-school routineSupervise homework and afternoon activities, keeping kids on track and on timeTransport children to local sports practices and coordinate handoffs as neededServe as backup childcare, including occasional date night coveragePrep backpacks, clothing, and snacks as neededNote: During summer months, opportunity to expand hours and offer more childcare supportMeal SupportSupporting dinner 3–4 nights per week; meals should be simple, kid-friendly, and approachableCooking styles may include light prep (chopping + marinating), batch prep or crockpot meals depending on the weekOnline grocery shopping and supplemental in-store shopping; put away upon delivery or returnComfortable working with picky eaters and able to introduce variety in a low-pressure wayHandle kitchen clean-up and maintain a tidy cooking spaceLaundry & LinensWash, fold, and put away laundryRotate and maintain bed linensKeep laundry areas tidy and well-stockedHousehold Organization & MaintenancePerform light daily resets in common areas: kitchen, living room, laundry room, and mudroomCreate and maintain household organization systems and take on organizational projects as needed (closets, pantry, toys, gear)Handle seasonal decor swaps, including setup and general holiday prepCoordinate donation drop-offs and assist with declutteringUnpack after family travelReplace batteries, light bulbs, air filters, and similar household maintenance itemsInventory & ErrandsRestock pantry, fridge, and household supplies on an ongoing basisManage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-offs, and gift shopping for birthdays, holidays, and special occasionsGift wrapping for holidays, birthdays, and other eventsBreak down boxes and manage general household errandsDeep Cleaning & Special ProjectsOccasional deep cleans: refrigerator, oven, baseboards, and high-use areasRefresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas as neededClean and maintain humidifiers and air purifiersPet CareOccasional litter tray changes (every few weeks)General dog care as neededTransport pets to vet or grooming appointments when neededVendor & Property OversightOversee and coordinate with the biweekly cleaning teamSchedule and oversee contractors, repair services, and other vendors as neededResearch and gather quotes for household repairs and projectsAdministrative SupportMaintain general awareness of the household calendar and schedule to stay ahead of busy periods and upcoming needsHow to ApplyTo apply, please submit a short intro letter telling us a bit about yourself and why this role is a great fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information (name, relationship, phone number, and email).
