Job description

Household Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)Location: Bedford, NH 03110Employment Type: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week (10 hours guaranteed)Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, between 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, plus occasional evening hours for extracurricular pick-up/drop-off or date night coverageCompensation: $28-30 per hourStart Date: ASAPAbout Our FamilyWe are a warm, welcoming family of four with two children, and our home is often filled with activity, connection, and quality time together. While both parents work part-time schedules, we've intentionally built our lives around being present and involved with our children. We deeply value family time and want our home to feel calm, joyful, and inviting — a place where we can fully enjoy this season of life together. Our ideal home environment is organized and well-functioning, but also lived-in, social, and full of warmth. We love spending time together as a family, hosting friends and loved ones, and creating meaningful memories in our home. During the summer especially, we enjoy entertaining and having people over, and we'd love additional support behind the scenes so we can focus more on connection, fun, and being present rather than constantly managing household logistics and to-do lists. Our household is balanced in energy: not chaotic, but certainly active and busy with the natural rhythm of family life. We appreciate organization, thoughtful systems, and proactive support, while also understanding the realities that come with raising children and maintaining a full home. We currently rely on extended family support, have a bi-weekly cleaning service, and use meal delivery services to help simplify busy weeks, but we're looking to bring in a dedicated household professional who can help create more consistency, ease, and breathing room within our day-to-day life.Who You Are / What We're Looking ForWe're looking for a thoughtful, proactive household professional who genuinely enjoys creating calm, order, and ease within a home. You naturally notice what needs to be done, take initiative without needing constant direction, and find fulfillment in helping a busy household run smoothly behind the scenes. You bring a warm, grounded presence into the home while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and strong boundaries. You're approachable, dependable, and highly capable of working independently, stepping in where support is needed and anticipating needs before they arise. You likely enjoy creating systems, organizing spaces, and improving day-to-day routines in thoughtful, practical ways. Whether helping maintain welcoming spaces or streamlining household operations, you take pride in making life feel lighter and more manageable for the families you support.Prior household management experience is preferred, and comfort around children is important, though childcare is a secondary aspect of the role. Above all, you're reliable, communicative, adaptable, and understand the value of helping a family spend more time together and less time managing household stress.Key ResponsibilitiesHousehold Management & OrganizationCreate and maintain household organization systems throughout the homePerform daily resets and tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)Prep home for bi-weekly cleaning serviceCoordinate with cleaning service on timing, linen changes, and focus areasPrepare and coordinate donation drop-offsEvent/holiday/guest prepHandle light maintenance tasks (changing bulbs, batteries, smoke detectors as needed)Provide basic plant careInventory & ErrandsRestock pantry/fridge/household suppliesManage running household supply listsReturns, dry cleaning as needed, and gift shoppingMail and package handlingBreakdown boxesLaundry & LinensWash, fold, and organize all family laundryCoordinate with cleaners on biweekly linen rotationIron and steam clothing, handle special garment careMaintain tidy and well stocked laundry areasMeal SupportPlan and prep 1 family dinner per week (ingredients assembled and ready to cook)Prepare salads for adult lunches (2 per week)Focus on healthy, protein-forward, kid-friendly mealsAssist with school lunch prep as neededGrocery shoppingMaintain kitchen cleanliness and organizationVehicle ManagementCoordinate maintenance and care for family vehicle as neededTake vehicle through carwash as neededTrack registration/insurance/inspectionVendor & Property OversightOversee cleaners and coordinate cleaning scheduleResearch/coordinate repairs and quotesSeasonal property maintenance (maintain pool area 1-2 times weekly during season)Manage outdoor spaces (deck refresh and organization)Family Support & Child AssistanceProvide occasional pickup/drop-off for extracurricularsOccasional date night coverage or back up childcarePrep small snack containers with fruit as neededHandle kid-related errandsDeep Cleaning & Special ProjectsOccasional refrigerator and pantry deep cleaningGarage organization and tidyingToy storage organization every 1-2 months (ensuring toys are properly sorted and stored)Clean humidifiers as neededAssist with entertaining prepCoordinate household repairs and gather quotes as neededAdministrative & Personal Assistant SupportManage household calendar for service appointmentsReceipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred as house managerRequirements:Reliable transportationCan maintain a smoke-free environmentCPR and First Aid certifiedHow to ApplyPlease submit a short introductory letter explaining why you'd be a great fit for this role, your updated resume, and contact information for 3 professional references. This role requires a background check. When you apply with Sage Haus, you'll also be added to our candidate community email list so we can share hiring updates, resources, and opportunities.
