With proximity to both the mountains and the beach, Newberry offers a rich sense of history, community pride, and balanced living.Position SummaryWe are currently seeking a Housekeeper / EVS Technician to support night shift operations on an as-needed basis. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the hospital in accordance with prescribed infection prevention and safety procedures.Essential FunctionsCleans assigned areas such as the lobby, Emergency Room, Medical Records, bathrooms, and other designated locations.Germicides countertops, bathrooms, and high-touch surfaces; removes trash; dust mops and damp mops floors; and places "Wet Floor" signs as required.Cleans discharged patient rooms according to EVS protocols, including: Spot-cleaning wallsWashing furniture and beds with germicideCleaning mirrors, sinks, toilets, tubs/showers, televisions, doors, drapes, and fixturesMaking beds with clean linensDusting, damp mopping, and vacuumingNotifies the nurse's station when patient rooms are cleaned and ready for new admissions.Performs daily patient room cleaning, including trash removal, high dusting, germiciding surfaces, and floor care.Reports broken furniture, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor promptly.Labor & Delivery Area: Wears scrub attire and performs terminal cleaning by germiciding walls, floors, tables, equipment, and light fixtures; removes excess water from floors as needed.Responds appropriately to department pages and service requests in a professional and timely manner.Performs other related duties as assigned, maintaining a positive, cooperative, and team-oriented attitude.Why Join Newberry Health Hospital?Be part of a mission-driven, community-focused organizationMake a direct impact on patient safety and care each shiftWork alongside dedicated professionals in a supportive environmentEnjoy the stability and pride of serving a close-knit communityRequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalent preferred.
