In addition, employment at the College provides employees with access to numerous discounts for products, services, and attractions.Position SummaryResponsibilities IncludeClean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areasSweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and surfacesEmpty trash and recycling containers and replace linersRefill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paperClean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other surfacesReport maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, lighting, or damage) to appropriate personnelPerform deep cleaning during academic breaks or as scheduledMaintain cleanliness in dining areas and event spaces before and after functionsFollow all safety and sanitation guidelinesSecure buildings and rooms after cleaning, as necessaryAssist with moving furniture or setting up spaces for events, meetings, or campus activitiesSupport special projects such as summer turnover cleaning in residence hallsPhysical Requirements of the Position:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of timeFrequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 25–40 poundsAbility to step stools to reach high surfacesRepetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wipingUse of hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment and toolsComfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g., dorms, offices, restrooms, outdoor walkways)Must be able to perform tasks in both hot and cold conditions, depending on building and weatherGuilford College does not discriminate on the basis of sex/gender, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, genetic information, military status, veteran status, or any other protected category under applicable local, state or federal law, ordinance or regulation.
