Summer Special! - Up to $1K Sign-on BonusEnsure and enhance the health and well-being of our Residents by providing a clean and safe environment in all resident rooms and public spaces for the benefit of residents, visitors and staff.Housekeeping FunctionsPerforms cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and disinfecting surfacesRemoves and stores refuse such as recyclables, hazardous waste, ordinary refuseWashes interior windowsUtilizes appropriate procedures, equipment, and chemicals according to infection control standardsFollows standard precautions and works within OSHA guidelinesUtilizes materials and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective mannerReports any equipment malfunction to the Maintenance DirectorPersonnel FunctionsAttends designated staff meetings as scheduledImmediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect of residents per facility policyDevelops and maintains a good working relationship with other staff, whether within the nursing department or inter-departmental personnelCompletes assigned training in a timely mannerLearns and follows fire and other work safety policiesRemains free of criminal conviction that may preclude employment in the nursing home setting, including but not limited to theft, battery, assaultReports any pending criminal or civil charges or matters to the Administrator by the next business dayFollows all facility policies and proceduresFollows the direction of the Administrator and/or Director of NursingAlways represents the United Pioneer Home in a positive manner unless contraindicated by lawPerforms other duties as qualified for and as directedRequirementsQualificationsAble to communicate fluently in written and spoken EnglishAble to read and follow labels and instructionsMinimum age 18Other Skills and Abilities RequiredDemonstrated concern for the elderly and ability to treat Residents with respect and dignityAbility to maintain the strict confidentiality of Resident information, as per HIPAA regulationsStrong time management and teamwork skillsAbility to prioritize duties and to understand and follow work assignmentsCustomer service orientedAdequate strength and endurance to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and carpet shampooersAbility to work as scheduled and adapt to changes in bi-weekly work schedulePhysical RequirementsAbility to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling, bending, and stooping movements for up to 8 hours per shiftAble to bend, squat, and do repetitive shoulder/arm motionsAble to lift a minimum of 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionallyAchieve negative assessment for infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB)Be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stabilityRemain free of illegal drug use and signs of impairment as per facility policy
