Housekeeper Position in Menlo Park, CaliforniaA warm, active family in Menlo Park is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to care for and maintain their home. The family has three young children and is looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy family environment and takes genuine pride in keeping a home clean, organized, and running smoothly. This role is best suited to someone who brings excellent housekeeping skills along with good judgment, flexibility, strong communication, and a service-oriented mindset. The family values someone who notices what needs attention, is comfortable shifting priorities when needed, and understands that excellent household support often includes both routine responsibilities and the occasional unexpected task. A willingness to pitch in, adapt, and help where needed is an important part of the role.The family is primarily seeking a full-time Housekeeper and is focused on finding the right long-term fit. They have flexibility around exact start and end times and can offer the following full-time schedules:Preferred Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–7:30 PMAlternate Full-Time Schedules: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PMThe family is also open to considering a part-time schedule of approximately 4.5–6 hours per day. For part-time candidates, there is flexibility in how those hours are structured. The family can consider a consistent 4.5–6 hour shift scheduled anytime between 8:00 AM and 7:30 PM, depending on the candidate's availability and the needs of the household.Compensation: $55–$60+/hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.Responsibilities will include:Thorough cleaning of the kitchen and bathroomsVacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floorsDusting and wiping counters, tables, furniture, fixtures, and household surfacesMaking beds and changing bed linensFamily laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting items awayGeneral tidying and daily resetting of roomsMaintaining organization throughout the homeCleaning mirrors, glass, sliding doors, and windows as neededRemoving fingerprints and everyday marks from glass, doors, and other surfacesProper care and cleaning of marble, natural stone, and specialty finishesUsing appropriate cleaning products and methods for different surfaces and materialsMonitoring household cleaning supplies and communicating when items need replenishmentPreparing and resetting indoor and outdoor spaces when the family entertainsWiping outdoor tables, counters, and entertaining areas before or after guestsAssisting with other reasonable household tasks as needs ariseThe ideal candidate will be:Experienced in professional residential housekeepingHighly detail-oriented and thoroughComfortable with both routine housekeeping and deep cleaningKnowledgeable about the proper care of marble, natural stone, and other specialty surfacesOrganized and able to maintain household systemsProactive and observant, with a natural eye for what needs attentionFlexible and comfortable with changing prioritiesDependable, punctual, and consistentCalm and professional in a busy householdA strong and respectful communicatorComfortable working around young childrenDiscreet and respectful of the family's privacySomeone with excellent common sense and sound judgmentWilling to help with a variety of reasonable household needsSomeone who takes pride in being of service and in leaving a home noticeably better cared for at the end of the dayBenefits include:Guaranteed weekly hours based on the agreed-upon scheduleHealth insurance stipendPaid vacation/PTO, generally 10–15 days annually and earned over timePaid holidays when they fall on a regularly scheduled weekdayPaid sick leave in accordance with applicable California requirementsStable, long-term employment with a respectful familyTravel is not expected as a regular part of the position.
