Job description
Environmental Services CleanerPerforms daily cleaning tasks for patients and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, and any other areas assigned by the Environmental Services Department.Full Time, 7:00 am-3:30 pm or 3:00 pm-11:00 pm shifts are availableEssential Functions/Performance ExpectationsHas customer service knowledge skillsKnows proper hand-washing techniquesKnows trash removal processKnows room cleaning processKnows on different types of cleaning such as daily, discharge, terminal and isolationKnows how to clean restrooms in public areas versus patient rooms including showersHas office cleaning experienceEducation And ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent is preferred but not required.Prior equivalent work experience in housekeeping, environmental services or related position is a plus.Required to complete one (1) hour of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification. Education will focus on the appropriate cleaning practices to be followed when in departments that process instruments for sterile use (i.e., Sterile Processing, Endoscopy).Physical RequirementsStand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
