Job description
Housekeeping PositionHousekeeping conveys quality and comfort by ensuring our facilities are clean, sanitized and beautiful for patients, families, staff and visitors.This PRN position is for both our Hudson and Valdese locations.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Complete cleaning functions in assigned areas to maintain an attractive, sanitary and orderly environment contributing to patient comfort, employee morale and staff satisfactionClean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms and public areas using approved cleaning agents and following company policyFollow all infection control and safety standardsInitiate and support positive relations with patients and co-workersMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipmentEmpty trash cans and dispose of waste properly, including hazardous materials such as medical waste and infectious substancesReport all aesthetic issues and damaged or broken equipment to director of facility servicesReplenish supplies on cleaning cart and in all assigned closetsDeliver clean linens to closetMaintain all required housekeeping documentationClean floors using care techniques of vacuuming, dry and damp moppingCollect parking lot trashWater plants during growing seasonPerform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishingMaintain stock of coffee, coffee supplies and snacks for familiesClean outdoor furniture, decks and patio furnitureAssist with arranging flowers brought into the patient care unitAssist with carpet cleaningAssure all patient laundry is appropriately cleaned and stockedPerform wall washing, window cleaning and hanging draperiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of computer systems and software usedKnowledge of proper cleaning methods and chemical useExcellent attention to details, quality and cleanlinessExcellent time management skillsExcellent customer service skillsMinimum Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: 1 year previous housekeeping experience preferredLicensures & Certifications: (if applicable): None listedPhysical Demands:Visual acuity to read written documentation and computer tasksAbility to sit extended periods of time and perform administrative tasksAbility to stand, bend and lift an average of 30 poundsManual dexterity with the ability to manipulate office equipment and keyboard for extended periods of timeAbility to walk, squat, kneel, climb and balanceSpecial Requirements:Must have an automobile with required insurance coverage and state driver's license
