Job PostingLoews Coral Gables Hotel features 242 guestrooms, including 23 beautifully designed suites, 30,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor flexible meeting space, an expansive 9th floor pool deck, four Miami-inspired dining outlets and more.Located just four blocks from the Gables' iconic Miracle Mile, the hotel is the centerpiece of The Plaza Coral Gables, a 2.1 million square foot mixed-use development showcasing retail space, dining and entertainment experiences.Loews Coral Gables Hotel is the second Loews Hotel to open in South Florida, joining 25 other properties across the US and Canada that make up the Loews Hotels & Co portfolio.To clean all public guest room areas of the hotel as assigned. To promote good public relations.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesReports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company's personal appearance standardsConsistently maintains a friendly positive attitude that ensures positive guest experience and giving recognition to returning guests.Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth by the Housekeeping DepartmentFollows proper etiquette when communicating over the radioRespond, follow and close HotSOS and other requests when assigned to them by the proper usage of Rexx/radioResponsible for helping room attendants by emptying trash and soiled linen from housekeeping cartsHelp maintain the following areas at all times: public rest rooms, hotel lobby levels, ashtrays, elevators and tracks, ice machine areas, stairwells, building entrance and hallwaysHandle guests with excellent guest relations skillsClean back-of-the-house windows as neededVacuum guest hallways dailyUse proper chemicals when cleaning as described by the department's proceduresAttend all departmental meetings as scheduledPerform all duties in a timely and efficient mannerMaintain linen closets clean, stock and organizeBring trash to compactor at the end of the dayResponsible for washing guest room glassware and delivered to linen closetsResponsible for bringing dirty glassware to housekeeping at the end of the shiftPerform all other duties as directed by management that are consistent with the policies and procedures of the companyNotifies immediate supervisors promptly and fully of all problems or unusual matters of significanceIs polite, friendly, and helpful to the guests, management, and fellow team membersAttends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessionsMaintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment, and work areaExecutes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standardsComplies with safety regulations and proceduresComplies with hotel policies and rulesRecycles whenever possibleRemains current with hotel information and changesSupportive Functions and ResponsibilitiesPromotes and applies teamwork skills at all timesNotifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significanceComplies with hotel uniform and grooming standardsQualificationsPrevious experience an assetAble to work as part of a dynamic quality-driven teamBasic English language skillsRequires extensive standing, walking, lifting and bendingAble to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 150 pounds repetitively during entire shiftAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysMust be customer-service orientated and have excellent hospitality skillsPhysical DemandsIt is required by this position that one will be:On their feet over 2/3 of the timeWalking over 2/3 of the timeUsing hands to handle, feel or point over 2/3 of the timeStooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling 1/3 of the timeUsing their listening and communication skills 2/3 of the timeAble to push, pull, and carry 150 lbsThere are special vision requirements that we ask for and they are:Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
