Job description
HousepersonThe Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the Clubhouse and surrounding campus. This role ensures all furnishings, fixtures, and common areas are clean, well-maintained, and present a welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff.Essential Job Duties:Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the Clubhouse and campus, including dusting, polishing, trash removal, supply restocking, and window cleaningMaintain all flooring surfaces through vacuuming, sweeping, and moppingSafely and properly operate cleaning equipment and toolsRespond promptly to spills and minor cleaning or maintenance issuesComplete minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, and décor as neededReport major repair needs or safety concerns to supervisors or management in a timely mannerTransport and reposition furnishings throughout the Clubhouse on a regular basisComplete assigned tasks efficiently and independently with minimal supervisionCommunicate daily priorities, completed tasks, and updates to the Housekeeping ManagerMinimum Skills & Qualifications:Ability to manage your time efficientlyWork well when supervisors are not presentAbility to lift 25 pounds consistently; up to 50 pounds frequentlyHandle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial workAbility to work safely with a variety of cleaning suppliesHigh school diplomaAbility to use basic cleaning equipmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesWorking Conditions:Exposure to loud noise levels and chemicalsAfternoon/Night Position: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., 4 p.m. to midnight shiftsLifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pullingFrequent standing and walkingEmployee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship. Country Club of Detroit retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
