Houseperson - InterContinental IndianapolisThe InterContinental Indianapolis, brings urban luxury and timeless style to Monument Circle. The landmarked Illinois Building has been restored to feature 170 Modern Guestrooms, 17 Luxurious Suites, Lobby Lounge and a stunning Rooftop Bar with iconic views of Monument Circle.This position is responsible for assisting housekeepers in maintaining high standards of quality.Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:Operates housekeeping cleaning equipment including carpet/floor care tools as assigned.Move furniture as necessary.Participate in general cleaning with tasks such as turning mattresses and removing sheers and drapes.Ensure that all equipment is distributed and maintained in proper operating order.Ensure that all linen closets are stocked.Ensure delivery of guest request items to guest rooms.Ensure that trash is collected and disposed of properly.Perform additional assigned general tasks.What we need from you:Prior heavy duty cleaning experience preferred.Minimum 1 year of experience working in housekeeping is required, preferably in a high-volume hotel, conference center or resort.It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important.Strength – with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and or push/pulling heavy objects.Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning standards and safetyProfessional attitude with guest and team members; must follow uniform and grooming guidelines.What you can expect from us:We give our people everything they need to succeed.
