The Salvation Army in Murfreesboro is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Housing Monitor for our 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM shift, Monday through Wednesday.This position is perfect for someone who thrives in the evening hours and is passionate about helping others. As a housing monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. If you are interested in contributing to The Salvation Army's mission and providing support to those in need, we encourage you to apply.The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Housing Monitor/Security Guard for the Murfreesboro, TN, location.Job SummaryMonitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guards the security the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of security practices and procedures.Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelinesAbility to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English languageEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required and six months experience working with the public with experience work in a security or social service environment preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
