Job description
The Director of People & Culture at Brio in Johnston, IA is a strategic partner to community leadership, shaping an exceptional team member experience through forward‑thinking HR practices that elevate recruitment, engagement, development, and retention. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Manage full-cycle recruitment at Brio, including posting positions, screening, interviewing, coordinating leader interviews, and final selection.
Oversee due‑diligence processes such background checks and pre‑employment steps.
Develop and Lead new-hire orientation program in alignment with organizational strategy.
Lead onboarding processes, present orientation materials, and support benefit enrollment for new hires.
Team Member Relations & Performance Management
Serve as a key consultant to leaders regarding performance management and team member relations.
Conduct internal investigations and guide leaders through appropriate action steps.
Manage team member complaints, grievances, disciplinary processes, and terminations.
Participate in unemployment hearings where appropriate.
Workers' Compensation & Safety
Act as the primary workers’ compensation contact for Heritage House.
Ensure timely completion and submission of all required accident reports and documentation.
Coordinate light duty and return-to-work processes.
Lead accident investigations and collaborate with leaders to implement improvements.
People Metrics & Reporting
Track, analyze, and present people and culture metrics to both community leadership and Network Support Center leaders.
Partner with leadership to create action plans addressing areas of need.
Support organization-wide strategy alignment by recognizing trends and implementing solutions that support the WesleyLife vision.
Compliance
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee workplace posters, OSHA reporting, logs, forms, FMLA processes, FLSA issues, and other compliance needs.
Maintain complete and audit‑ready personnel files.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent HR experience may be substituted for education.
Minimum of three years of human resources experience required.
Strong generalist background across team member relations, benefits administration, compliance, employment law, and business operations.
Experience in healthcare or hospitality strongly preferred.
