Job description

OUR STORY:

Join Scaleway and shape the sovereign cloud of tomorrow !

Since 1999, we have been designing secure, sustainable infrastructures aimed at supporting the most ambitious companies.

Historically known for our dedicated servers (Dedibox), we made a strategic shift to cloud computing in 2015. Staying true to our principles of simplicity, flexibility, and technical excellence, we have become one of the leading players in Europe in the sector.

With the rise of artificial intelligence, we have strengthened our commitment, supported by the Iliad Group, which is investing €3 billion to develop a serious, sovereign AI alternative to American and Asian giants.

Every day, thanks to our fast-growing portfolio of cloud and AI products (bare metal, containerization, serverless, AI, etc.), Scaleway proudly serves thousands of customers across the private and public sector, from corporations like France Télévisions or Hachette Livre, to fast-growing startups like Photoroom and Biolevate, to institutions like the City of Copenhagen.

Our offices are located in Paris, Lille, Toulouse, Rennes, Rouen, Bordeaux and Lyon.

WHY WE NEED YOU?

As Scaleway continues to grow across Europe, we are strengthening our HR team to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risk, and support operational excellence in an increasingly international environment.

Your mission will be to lead HR legal topics across Europe, manage employee relations, and provide strategic legal guidance on both individual and collective matters.

You will play a key role in turning complex legal and employee‑relations topics into clear, practical, and business‑oriented solutions that support Scaleway’s growth.

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

We work in a collaborative and international environment where the diversity of Scalers, combined with a strong culture of knowledge sharing, helps us bring ambitious projects to life.

As HR Legal & Employee Relations Manager, you will work closely with the CHRO and act as a key legal partner to the HR organization.

You will ensure legal consistency, compliance, and strategic alignment across our European entities and locations, while partnering closely with HRBPs, managers, and internal stakeholders on sensitive and high‑impact topics.

YOUR DAILY ROUTINE

Pilot HR implementation for new country openings, including local benchmarks, employment contracts, and social protection compliance.

Coordinate and challenge external legal counsel and payroll providers across different European regions to optimize compliance.

Manage international mobility files, including secondments, expatriation, and cross‑border recruitment.

Act as the lead internal expert for management on all employment law matters (contracts, working hours, disciplinary actions, and terminations).

Oversee pre‑litigation and litigation cases in direct collaboration with specialized law firms.

Maintain legal watch to ensure the company remains compliant with evolving French and European legislation.

Prepare and co‑animate meetings with Employee Representative Bodies (CSE) and various social committees.

Define strategy and lead negotiations for collective company agreements.

Advise leadership on the social climate to maintain constructive and secure dialogue with social partners.

ABOUT YOU

HARDSKILLS:

Master 2 (Level 2) in Social Law or Human Resources.

At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally including experience in a law firm and/or an international environment.

Proven expertise in multi‑site management within Europe.

Significant experience in social relations, including managing instances and collective bargaining.

Full English fluency for daily interaction with international employees and foreign legal cabinets.

SOFT SKILLS:

Strategic Anticipation: Ability to maintain a 6‑to‑12‑month vision on all legal and social files.

Business Partner Mindset: Moving beyond "just the law" to propose actionable solutions that aid decision‑making.

Rigor and Excellence: Delivering impeccable, high‑quality work that requires no fundamental revision.

Strategic Autonomy: Capacity to lead complex subjects from A to Z while providing synthesized reporting.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND AT SCALEWAY ++++

Well‑being commitments: Whether it’s access to a gym, daycare places, or discounted services for caring services, Scaleway is committed to supporting Scalers in maintaining a balanced life.

International environment: With dozens of nationalities, Scaleway offers a stimulating environment where English is as widely spoken as French.

Career & Mobility: Our managers value internal mobility, and opportunities to transition to other entities within the Iliad Group are accessible to all Scalers.

Why join the Scaleway adventure?

A rich and diverse product offering: Scaleway offers over 100 public cloud products in IaaS, PaaS, and AI.

A cutting‑edge technical environment: Scaleway provides modern infrastructures, including high‑performance bare metal servers, to tackle exciting technical challenges.
