Job description
Hunting Energy Services Payroll SpecialistResponsibilities:Own and process multi-state payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness each pay cycleProcess and reconcile payroll data, resolving discrepancies in the HRIS system (UKG)Review tax and payroll records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsServe as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and issuesCompile, update, and maintain accurate employee records including compensation, benefits, tax data, performance evaluations, and termination detailsUpdate personnel files to reflect employment changes and ensure accurate payroll/reporting dataRecruitment & Onboarding:Support full-cycle recruitment by posting job openings, screening applicants, and coordinating interview scheduling with department managersCoordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation and initial trainingEmployee Relations & Performance:Assist managers with performance management, including coaching conversations, recognition programs, disciplinary documentation, and conflict resolutionServe as a point of contact for routine employee relations questions, promoting a positive, respectful, and compliant workplaceHandle and escalate employee concerns professionally and confidentiallyBenefits Administration:Ensure timely and accurate enrollment in company benefit programsProcess benefit transactions including enrollments, terminations, and changes for health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plansReconcile monthly insurance invoices and help resolve billing discrepanciesGather and organize documentation to support annual benefit plan auditsHelp maintain compliance with policies and regulations related to Vacation, Sick, and FMLA leaveAdditional Responsibilities:Assist with maintaining and updating company Intranet contentSupport the company's Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading content, tracking completions, and troubleshooting accessHelp maintain required annual reporting and support internal/external auditsPerform additional HR duties and special projects as assignedWhat You Bring:Education:High school diploma requiredAssociate degree preferredExperience & Skills:Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll (required — this is a core function of the role)UKG Experience PreferredProficient in MS Office Suite and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new systemsStrong knowledge of office administrative practices and proceduresWorking knowledge of payroll and HR-related standards and regulationsStrong prioritization and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple tasksA collaborative, people-first approach to getting things doneCertifications (Preferred):CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)Why Join Hunting Energy Services?Affordable, quality medical, dental, and vision benefits401(k) with 6% company match after 6 monthsCompetitive vacation and sick time off planCollaborative, performance-driven cultureEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
