MS/ HS Attendance ClerkMaintain accurate and complete student attendance recordsMinimum Education/Certification:High School Diploma or GED, requiredEducational Aide I Paraprofessional CertificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of general office equipmentEffective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively use district attendance programs after standard training and with reasonable help-desk assistanceAbility to operate a computer using a variety of basic applicationsBilingual English/Spanish preferredMinimum Experience:One (1) year of clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or backgroundMajor Responsibilities and Job Duties:Perform all clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate and complete student attendance and other student records within established district guidelinesCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding student attendance issuesAssist students, teachers, and parents as neededReceive incoming calls and take reliable messages as neededMaintain confidentiality of information and student records and maintain loyalty to the districtRemain informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.Supervisory Responsibilities: noneWorking Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Perform tasks with frequent interruptions; Maintain emotional control under stress; Work to meet established deadlines; Repetitive hand motions; Prolonged use of computer; Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; Communicate effectively (verbal and written)Tools/Equipment Used: Computer, printer, copier, telephone, calculator, and facsimilePosture: Prolonged sitting and standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Frequent walking; repetitive computer work with frequent use of hands and wristsLifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipmentSafety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately to the supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
