Job description
Position Overview
Peak Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Safety Manager to lead our company-wide safety, compliance, training, DOT, and contractor qualification programs.
Peak provides electrical, powerline, automation/I&E, construction, and maintenance services to the oil and gas industry.
This position requires someone who understands the safety requirements associated with oilfield operations, electrical construction, energized electrical work, medium-voltage power distribution, heavy equipment, and commercial motor vehicles.
This is a hands-on position requiring both field presence and strong administrative/compliance management.
Primary Responsibilities
Managing Peak's ISN, Veriforce, Avetta, DISA, Team Professional Services, and customer-specific compliance platforms
Maintaining contractor qualifications, written programs, safety statistics, training records, customer requirements, audits, and corrective actions
Keeping the company audit-ready and proactively addressing compliance deficiencies and upcoming expirations
Maintaining and updating company safety policies, procedures, manuals, and OSHA records
Conducting regular field safety audits across electrical, powerline, automation/I&E, shop, yard, and construction operations
Managing incident, injury, vehicle accident, near-miss, and property-damage investigations and corrective actions
Conducting new-hire orientation, recurring safety meetings, field training, and applicable NFPA 70E/electrical safety training
Maintaining employee training matrices, certifications, qualifications, and expiration dates
Managing DOT/FMCSA compliance, Driver Qualification Files, MVRs, drug/alcohol programs, and driver eligibility
Working with Fleet Management to improve vehicle inspections, driver safety, and accident prevention
Supporting customer, OSHA, DOT, insurance, and third-party audits
Working directly with employees, supervisors, management, customers, and regulatory/compliance representatives
Exercising and supporting Stop Work Authority whenever unsafe conditions exist
Leadership Expectations
The Safety Manager must be able to take ownership of Peak Energy Solutions' Safety Department and operate with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate must be comfortable correcting unsafe behavior, holding employees and supervisors accountable, working directly with customers and auditors, and identifying safety or compliance issues before they impact employees or operations.
Education & Certifications
A bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, EHS, or a related field is preferred. Significant directly applicable industry experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Preferred certifications include CSP, CHST, OHST, OSHA 500/501, NFPA 70E instructor experience, SafeLand/PEC instructor, First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, and H2S instructor.
Work Conditions
This position is based in Seminole, Texas and includes both office and field responsibilities. Regular travel to active oilfield and construction locations is required.
The Safety Manager must be available for early safety meetings, field training, customer requirements, and serious safety incidents when necessary.
