Emergency Department Technician/Health Unit Coordinator/Admission ClerkThe Emergency Department Technician/Health Unit Coordinator/Admission Clerk works under the direction of a RN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. She/He will directly/indirectly impact the patient outcomes and care provided to our customers.Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GEDLicensure/Certification/Registration Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS/Responder certification required prior to completion of orientation.Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experiencePreferred experience: Medical terminologyOther experience requirements: Successful completion of one of the following:Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting.Currently enrolled in nursing school and completion of at least one clinical rotation.EMT-Basic certificationSpecial Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements.
