Greater Boston Collaborative Food Access HubHunger Prevention SpecialistLocation: 30 Northampton St., Roxbury, MA 02118Reports to: Director of OperationsPosition Type: Part-TimeJob ResponsibilitiesSet up packing line with food at beginning of shift (as directed by Pantry Operations Manager)Stock the bagging area with food that will be used to pack bags for the dayPack grocery bagsIdentify unfit produce and place in compost boxes under tablesReplenish/restock food as needed for lineStack empty palletsBreak down and recycle all cardboard boxes in recycling bins throughout the dayPull bags from tables and place them in carts to prepare for deliveries or on pallets (as directed by Pantry Operations Manager)Assist drivers in loading deliveriesAssist with deliveries as neededAttend staff meetingsComplete all required YMCA training courses and food safety coursesWhen packing is complete for the day:Remove all food from line/tables and return to proper palletsRefrigerate unused produceRemove all compost boxes from line and place all spoiled produce in compost binsDisinfect all tables and cartsEmpty all trash bins into trash compactor and replace trash bagsEmpty all recycling bins into recycling compactorSweep both packing areasOther duties as assigned by manager
