Job Description Job Description Job Summary:
The HVAC Install Helper assists lead installers and installation teams with the removal, setup, assembly, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This entry- to mid-level position is focused on learning proper installation techniques, following safety guidelines, and ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are prepared and organized for each job. The HVAC Install Helper plays a key role in supporting efficient, high-quality installations while developing skills to advance within the HVAC trade.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist lead installers with HVAC system installations for residential and commercial projects
Load, unload, and stage tools, equipment, and materials at job sites
Help measure, cut, and assemble ductwork, piping, and other system components
Assist in wiring, refrigerant charging, and testing under supervision
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on job sites and in company vehicles
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor installation issues under guidance
Remove and dispose of old equipment in compliance with environmental regulations
Maintain tools and equipment to ensure proper operation
Support accurate completion of job-related paperwork and documentation
Learn industry standards, codes, and best practices to grow technical skills
Qualification/Skills/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or HVAC coursework preferred
No experience required, but prior HVAC, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus
Willingness to learn HVAC installation techniques and procedures
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
Strong work ethic and willingness to follow directions
Ability to work well in a team environment
Good communication skills with crew members and customers
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Ability to adapt to changing work environments and priorities
Travel:
Travel is expected for this position
