HVAC Installation ManagerThe HVAC Installation Manager is responsible for leading the residential HVAC installation department while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the company's quality standards. This leadership role oversees installation teams, scheduling, project execution, training, and departmental performance while working closely with sales, service, and operations.Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who can develop people, improve processes, solve field challenges, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from project kickoff through completion.Compensation & BenefitsCompensation $90,000–$120,000 annually (DOE, leadership experience, certifications, and licensing)BenefitsCompany vehicleFuel cardCompany phone & tabletMedical, dental, vision, prescription, life & AD&D insuranceHSA & FSA401(k) with up to 4% company matchPTOPaid holidaysPaid birthdaySick timeBereavement leaveParental leaveTuition reimbursementPaid continuing educationProfessional development assistanceBoot & tool reimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee discountsReferral programRelocation assistanceCompany uniformsFamily-oriented company eventsStable, year-round employmentResponsibilitiesLead and manage the residential HVAC installation department.Supervise, coach, and develop Lead Installers, Installers, and Apprentices.Schedule installation crews and allocate labor to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.Conduct jobsite visits to inspect workmanship and provide coaching.Resolve installation challenges and provide technical support for field teams.Coordinate with sales, project management, purchasing, and service departments to ensure smooth project execution.Monitor labor efficiency, project profitability, and departmental KPIs.Recruit, interview, onboard, and train installation personnel.Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.Ensure compliance with OSHA, manufacturer, and local code requirements.Oversee fleet, equipment, inventory, and tool management.Address customer concerns professionally and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, efficiency, and quality.Required Qualifications7+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.3+ years of installation leadership or supervisory experience.Proven experience leading multiple installation crews.Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems including: furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems.Excellent leadership and team development skills.Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational abilities.Experience managing labor productivity and project performance.Valid driver's license with clean driving record.Comfortable using tablets, scheduling software, and mobile technology.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Stable work history with demonstrated leadership progression.Preferred QualificationsEPA Universal CertificationNATE CertificationResidential boiler installation experienceLight commercial HVAC experienceExperience with ServiceTitan or similar field management softwareOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 CertificationExperience managing inventory and warehouse operationsDesired Candidate TraitsServant leader who enjoys building strong teamsLeads with accountability, fairness, and consistencyStrong coach and mentor who develops future leadersOrganized and highly proactiveCalm under pressure and decisiveCustomer-first mindsetProcess-oriented with continuous improvement mentalityHigh integrity and professional presenceStrong problem solver with excellent follow-throughScheduleFull-timeMonday–FridayYear-round workOccasional after-hours support as neededCompany OverviewA well-established mechanical contractor serving Northern Michigan, specializing in residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services.
